I thought I was fancying up my rig when I swapped out the plain plastic valve caps on our 2020 Toyota Tundra for some shiny red metal ones. They looked cool, but what I didn’t know was that metal caps can corrode and actually fuse to the valve stem. Sure enough, one of them rusted solid and ended up destroying the stem — which meant an expensive repair for something as small as a cap. Lesson learned: stick with the simple plastic ones. Sometimes the “boring” option really does save you money. I was super lucky they all didn't get ruined.
