I thought I was fancying up my rig when I swapped out the plain plastic valve caps on our 2020 Toyota Tundra for some shiny red metal ones. They looked cool, but what I didn’t know was that metal caps can corrode and actually fuse to the valve stem. Sure enough, one of them rusted solid and ended up destroying the stem which meant an expensive repair for something as small as a cap. Lesson learned: stick with the simple plastic ones. Sometimes the “boring” option really does save you money. I was super lucky they all didn't get ruined.
